Women's Public Links Golf Association of Southern California, Inc.

Women’s Public Links Golf Association of Southern California, Inc., is a non-profit organization that provides information competitive amateur golfing opportunities for women throughout Southern California (from Santa Barbara to San Diego and the ocean to the desert).

WPLGA was founded in 1933 and today has 102 member clubs with approximately 8000 memberships. The membership consists of women's clubs at public courses. This is a volunteer organization comprised of 21 board members, who are elected annually by WPLGA members.

The Board consists of the following:

• 1^st Vice President (Major Tournament Chair)
• 2^nd Vice President (Monthly Tournament Chair)
• Secretary/Membership
• Treasurer
• Handicap Chairperson
• Team Chairperson
• Rules Chairperson
• Rating Chairperson
• Public Affairs Chairperson
• Ten Division Representatives

Each member club is represented by a volunteer delegate from that club. The only paid position of the WPLGA is a part-time secretary.

WPLGA MEMBERSHIP

What does WPLGA Membership provide?

• An official USGA Handicap to all its members (as authorized by the USGA*)

• Course Rating - Issues ratings and slopes for member clubs at no cost.

• Monthly Association Play Day in all nine divisions at various courses thoughout Southern California . Members fill out entry blanks to reserve their golf course preference, number of players and tee time request.

• Tournaments – WPLGA has an annual Championship Tournament, several "Away from Home" and various special tournaments.

• Team Play – WPLGA sponsors annual inter-club Team Match Play competitions.

• Annual Handbook that contains a listing of the Board of Directors , WPLGA delegates, rating and slope for each member club and information & entry blanks for the monthly and special tournaments.
