Meet Calendar Girls Honey and Tessa
The Journey at Pechanga dogs, Hoiney and Tessa, have been chosen as "Misses May" for a popular Golf Calendar. They are the only two dogs from Southern California selected for the entire calendar. The girls, sisters and four-year old border collies, are also "employed"
at Journey at Pechanga as part of the course's overall eco-friendly practices. Their main job is to run the golf course grounds for several hours each morning and chase away mud hens. They live at the course in comfortable indoor/outdoor accommodations attached to the superintendent's building and have a trainer and an on-call groomer.
The pair are also contestants in the "Dog of the Year" contest at the annual golf show in Orlando at the beginning of February. The winning dog(s) receives $3,000 for their local association, plus $500 for the dog owner and $500 for their local humane society.
Voting for the "Dog of the Year" takes place only at the golf show and will be at the Lebanon Turf booth. Read the press release HERE. If you're travelling to Florida, we encourage you to visit the show and "Vote for Honey and Tessa"!
